Baseball Recap: Orrville Takes a Loss

Orrville had lost three straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 4-9 to make it four. They came up short against the Tuslaw Mustangs, falling 18-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-5 on Monday.

As for Tuslaw, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games.

For Tuslaw's part, Caden Kiefer was a standout: he got on base in four of his six plate appearances with four runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI Kiefer has posted over his last four matchups. Another player making a difference was Keenan Kinsey, who went 2-for-6 with four runs and two RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orrville will take on Northwestern at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tuslaw, they will challenge Northwest at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
