Baseball Game Preview: Fisher Gators vs. East Jefferson Warriors

The Fisher Gators are taking a road trip to face off against the East Jefferson Warriors at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Fisher comes in on seven and East Jefferson on three.

Fisher picked up another tournament win on Thursday. They skirted past A.J. Ellender 7-6. That's two games straight that the Gators have won by just one run.

The team relied heavily on Charles Shamp, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Meanwhile, East Jefferson won against Thomas Jefferson on Friday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. East Jefferson beat Thomas Jefferson by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. Considering the Warriors have won four contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

East Jefferson's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Fisher, their record is now 9-2-1.

Fisher came up short against East Jefferson in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 8-4. Can Fisher avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
