Basketball Recap: Bellville Comes Up Short

Bellville suffered their biggest defeat since January 17, 2024 on Friday. They had to suffer through a 68-41 loss at the hands of the La Grange Leopards. The Brahmas were down 52-26 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

La Grange got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Conner Brooks out in front who went 7 for 10 en route to 17 points. Another player making a difference was Brandon Mathis, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Bellville's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for La Grange, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 19-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bellville has already played their next match (against Navasota), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. La Grange will head out to square off against Giddings at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. La Grange is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61 points per game this season.
