Baseball Recap: Elkhart Takes a Loss

Elkhart has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.36 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came up short against the South Bend Saint Joseph Huskies, falling 16-3. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Huskies recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Elkhart saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Shreiner, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Elkhart's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for South Bend Saint Joseph, the win keeps they at an undefeated 12-0.

While Elkhart had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
