Baseball Recap: Madison Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Madison, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Lakeside Dragons a 10-0 shutout on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Blue Streaks, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.

AlexAnder DAvis was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of NathaN YarNell, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Madison's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Lakeside, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madison will square off against Harding at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Skippers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.38 runs per game on average), something the Blue Streaks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lakeside, they will challenge Cardinal at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Dragons are facing the Huskies at the right time seeing as the Huskies are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
