Softball Recap: Heritage Generals vs. Jefferson Dragons
Heritage had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Jefferson Dragons a 3-0 shutout on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Generals sure are getting used to it with their 26th in a row.
Jefferson's batters probably weren't too happy with Addie Edwards, who pitched a no hitter and racked up eight Ks (she gave up no walks). Edwards has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Ella Blansit was incredible, going 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI.
Heritage's victory was their 32nd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 27-1. As for Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-13.
Heritage will have a chance to go back-to-back against Jefferson: the pair will be back at it again later today.
