Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln Park Lions vs. Brooks Eagles

The Lincoln Park Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Brooks Eagles at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Lincoln Park will be strutting in after a win while Brooks will be coming in after a defeat.

If Lincoln Park beats Brooks with eight runs on Saturday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Lions walked away with an 8-3 victory over Ogden International on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Brooks' good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost 11-2 to Kenwood.

Brooks saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mikayle Haji, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs.

The win got Lincoln Park back to even at 8-8. As for Brooks, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 7-10.

Lincoln Park skirted past Brooks 5-4 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
