Basketball Recap: Westwood Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Westwood has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They came up short against the Marquette Redmen on Tuesday, falling 77-56. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 75-54 back in December of 2024.

Westwood's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5. As for Marquette, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.

Westwood and Marquette should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. Westwood will square off against Manistique at 7:15 p.m. on Friday up 530 places (84 vs. 614). Westwood is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Similarly, Marquette (ranked 24th) will meet Menominee (ranked 214th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
