Preview: Egyptian Pharaohs vs. Cobden Appleknockers

Egyptian has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Cobden Appleknockers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Even though Egyptian has not done well against Agape Christian recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Egyptian came out on top against Agape Christian by a score of 56-45. The win was just what Egyptian needed coming off of a 95-63 defeat in their prior matchup.

Brandon Plott was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Egyptian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Damarion Clark, who scored 20 points.

Cobden can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 63-36 win over Shawnee. The victory was just what Cobden needed coming off of a 75-32 defeat in their prior contest.

Egyptian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-20 record this season. Cobden's record now sits at 14-15.

Egyptian was dealt a bruising 53-24 defeat at the hands of Cobden in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Egyptian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
