Softball Recap: Saginaw Rough Riders vs. Chisholm Trail Rangers
Saginaw managed to slip by Chisholm Trail the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Saginaw Rough Riders lost 18-3 to the Chisholm Trail Rangers on Thursday. The Rough Riders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rangers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2017.
Saginaw saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anslee Roberts, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Hannah Brown also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Saginaw's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Chisholm Trail, they moved to 9-8-1 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saginaw will square off against Fossil Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Saginaw has given up an average of 11.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Chisholm Trail, they will take on Azle at 7:00 p.m. on March 28th.
