Volleyball Recap: Pierce Starts Season with Victory Against Stanton

Pierce gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Stanton Mustangs. The Bluejays have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-19, 25-12.

Haley Scholting was the offensive standout of the game as she had four aces and three digs. Those three digs gave her a new career-high.

Scholting wasn't the only good server: Pierce was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in seven consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Pierce has already played their next contest (against North Bend Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Stanton, they will take on Madison on Thursday.
