Soccer Game Preview: Memorial vs. Abilene

The Memorial Mavericks will face off against the Abilene Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Memorial took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They never let Wylie onto the board and left with a 3-0 victory. Considering the Mavericks have won five contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Abilene waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Bulldogs.

Adrian Munoz and Naim Segura scored both of Abilene's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Memorial is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those eight contests. As for Abilene, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

Memorial beat Abilene by a goal in their previous matchup on February 4th, winning 1-0. Will Memorial repeat their success, or does Abilene have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
