Softball Recap: Longmeadow Falls to Westfield in First Game of Season

Longmeadow unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Westfield Bombers on Friday, falling 12-3. The Lancers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bombers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Delaney Schrager was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Lexi Winkler was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Longmeadow has already played their next contest, a 12-2 loss against East Longmeadow on the 4th. As for Westfield, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 1-0 win against South Hadley on the 1st.
