Lamar Pearson gave up the fewest earned runs he has since back in April on Wednesday. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Pearson and New Haven will face off against Yale at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The Rockets will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 195 places lower in Michigan), but they're not letting that get them down.
