Baseball Recap: Woodside Victorious

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Woodside nor San Mateo made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Bearcats 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Bearcats on Tuesday, they had to take a 4-1 loss.

Anderson Comfort was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Woodside is 5-1 when Comfort posts two or more runs, but 6-14 otherwise.

Woodside's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-15. As for San Mateo, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 12-15.

As of now, neither Woodside nor the Bearcats have any future games scheduled.
