Baseball Recap: Gloucester County Tech Drops Highest Score of Season Against Highland Regional

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Clearview, Gloucester County Tech was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Highland Regional Tartans. Gloucester County Tech's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Andrew Valey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run and five RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

In other batting news, Gloucester County Tech let Willie Popoff and Phil Murphy run wild. Popoff went 4-for-5 with one home run and one triple, while Murphy went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.
