Baseball Recap: Madison Southern Takes a Loss

Madison Southern extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 11-15 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bryan Station Defenders. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Defenders earlier this season, when they won 11-1.

As for Bryan Station, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-13. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games.

For Bryan Station's part, their victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Samuel Wilkerson, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Looking ahead, Madison Southern will host Western Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles are facing the Wolverines at the right time seeing as the Wolverines are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Bryan Station, they will head out on the road to face off against Madison Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Defenders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
