Volleyball Recap: Conant Cougars vs. Schaumburg Saxons

Conant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Schaumburg Saxons. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Saxons this season, with their most recent loss being a 2-1 defeat back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-15.

Olivia Hohl paced Conant's offense, picking up four kills. Hohl got some help from Sienna McCarthy and her seven assists.

Larisa Baldwin was the offensive standout of the contest as she had ten digs.

Conant's loss dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Schaumburg, they moved to 9-13 with that victory, which also ended their four-match losing streak.

Coming up, Conant will face off against Palatine at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Schaumburg, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Elgin on the 11th.
