Recap: CenTex HomeSchool Chargers vs. NYOS Charter Jaguars
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the CenTex HomeSchool Chargers can now relate to. They suffered a tough 52-30 loss at the hands of NYOS Charter on Saturday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for CenTex HomeSchool in their matchups with NYOS Charter: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, CenTex HomeSchool still got an impressive performance from AJ Johnson, who rushed for 101 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 54 receiving yards.
It was another big night for Mark Amichia, who rushed for 214 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 100 yards and a touchdown on only eight passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryland Langlinais, who rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to NYOS Charter's defense and their three sacks. Fidel Fuentes was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
CenTex HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for NYOS Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.
CenTex HomeSchool does not have any more games scheduled as of now. NYOS Charter is on the road again on Friday and play against East Texas Homeschool Sports. East Texas Homeschool Sports is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
