League recap: Winston Academy's Wall delivers best pitching performance from past week

MAIS AA District 2 league recap: 3/20/13

Braxton Wall was the top pitcher in MAIS AA District 2 this week, leading Winston Academy. He won one game and retired six batters.

Oak Hill Academy currently sits at the top of the league with a mark of 2-0 overall and 1-0 in league play. The Patriots are -0.5 game back and in second place with a 2-0 league record.

Winston Academy boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

The Patriots' Wall led the league in strikeouts this week with six. He's sixth in the league with seven total strikeouts.

Jacob Arnold was an RBI machine on Tuesday, as he knocked in four runs during Canton Academy's 9-8 win over Parklane Academy. He went 3-for-4 and scored one run.



Wall threw a shutout as he led Winston Academy to victory over Central Holmes Christian, 3-0, on Friday. He pitched four scoreless innings and struck out six, while giving up three hits.
