Basketball Recap: Kirkwood Takes a Loss

Kirkwood and Dickson County squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Kirkwood had to settle for second. They were dealt a 58-28 loss at the hands of the Dickson County Cougars. The Cobras have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Dickson County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keely Webb, who went 6-for-11 on her way to 17 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Webb has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Coralee Grove, who posted nine points along with seven boards and five assists.

Kirkwood's defeat dropped their record down to 10-17. As for Dickson County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-13 record this season.

As of now, neither Kirkwood nor Dickson County have any future games scheduled.
