Soccer Game Preview: Wagoner vs. Claremore

The Wagoner Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Claremore Zebras at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Wagoner made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Glenpool, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Wagoner put the hurt on Glenpool with a sharp 4-1 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for Wagoner, who have now won three games by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Claremore had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on March 11th. They never let the Buffaloes get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Give Claremore's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Wagoner is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those six contests. Claremore's victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Wagoner suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Claremore in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Wagoner avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
