Baseball Recap: Phoenix Christian Has No Trouble Against Parker

Phoenix Christian made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Parker, but still couldn't quite topple them. The Phoenix Christian Cougars put the hurt on the Parker Broncs with a sharp 16-2 win on Thursday. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 17-6 victory the Broncs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2022.

Kohen Spannagel was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Zach Brigowatz, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Phoenix Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Parker only posted an OBP of .353.

The win made it two in a row for Phoenix Christian and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.5 runs. As for Parker, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Phoenix Christian will challenge Bisbee at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Parker, they will be taking part in a tournament against ALA - West Foothills at 8:30 a.m. on Friday.
