Wawasee posted their closest victory since April 14th on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Plymouth Pilgrims 4-3. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Chasity Kelich spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ashlynn Corn, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

The win made it two in a row for Wawasee and bumps their season record up to 6-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Plymouth, they moved to 7-4 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Wawasee is set to square off against their familiar foe Goshen at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Plymouth will face off against rival NorthWood at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
