Hawley gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 33-14 victory over the Roscoe Plowboys. The win continues a trend for the Bearcats in their matchups with the Plowboys: they've now won seven in a row.

Brycen Stofel threw for 98 yards and one TD while completing 78.6% of his passes. Camden Ables was his top target, picking up 68 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, John Doerschuk rushed for 153 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry.

Roscoe's loss came despite strong showings from Braxton Smith and Jace Arnwine. Smith picked up 90 receiving yards and one score, while Arnwine threw for 172 yards and one touchdown. An impressive showing, but Smith really ramped things up playing D: he made ten total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

Looking ahead, Hawley is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Albany at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Roscoe, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Coahoma at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
