Stewartsville had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.4 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They walked away with a 48-36 victory over the Stanberry Bulldogs. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 490th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Stewartsville pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Stanberry, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Stewartsville has already played their next game, a 52-39 victory against King City on the 29th. As for Stanberry, they will look to defend their home court on February 4th against Princeton at 7:30 p.m. Princeton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Stanberry likes a good challenge.
