Basketball Game Preview: Basha Bears vs. Hamilton Huskies

Basha is 0-10 against Hamilton since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Basha Bears will welcome the Hamilton Huskies at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Basha is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Pinnacle on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Basha took a blow against Pinnacle, falling 67-29. The match marked the Bears' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Amira Reynolds, who posted eight points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Madison Garner, who earned seven points.

Meanwhile, Hamilton faced Millennium in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Hamilton came up short against Millennium, falling 67-43. That makes it the first time this season the Huskies have let down their home crowd.

Basha will have to contain Taylor Sipfle as she made an impact in Hamilton's last game. She dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Hamilton's loss ended a 16-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-8. As for Basha, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 10-8.

Basha lost to Hamilton at home by a decisive 63-44 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Basha avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
