Soccer Game Preview: Somerset vs. Karns City

The Somerset Eagles will square off against the Karns City Gremlins at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Somerset is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Eagles who were credited with the victory. Somerset got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Bedford's four. The win made it back-to-back victories for Somerset.

Evan Walter and Hoyt Emert scored both of Somerset's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Karns City hadn't beaten St. Marys on the road since September 8, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. The Gremlins had just enough and edged out the Flying Dutch 2-1.

Karns City now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Somerset, their win bumped their record up to 16-4.

Somerset skirted past Karns City 1-0 in their previous matchup back in November of 2021. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gremlins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
