Basketball Recap: Stockton Takes a Loss

Stockton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were beaten by the Scales Mound Hornets 76-44. The Blackhawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-14.

Derrick Distler was his usual excellent self, going 9-for-16 on his way to 21 points and eight rebounds for Scales Mound. The dominant performance gave Distler a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Soppe, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Stockton's record is now 6-20. As for Scales Mound, their victory bumped their record up to 16-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stockton will head out to take on West Carroll at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Stockton is facing West Carroll at the right time seeing as West Carroll is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Scales Mound, they will head out on the road to face off against River Ridge at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
