Basketball Game Preview: Cheverus Stags vs. Scarborough Red Storm

The Cheverus Stags will venture away from home to square off against the Scarborough Red Storm at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cheverus knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Scarborough likes a good challenge.

Cheverus is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Windham, who was ranked eighth at the time (Cheverus was ranked 11th). Cheverus enjoyed a cozy 66-51 victory over Windham on Friday.

Meanwhile, Scarborough was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 50-46 to Gorham.

Scarborough's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Cheverus, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.

Cheverus came up short against Scarborough when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 59-51. Can Cheverus avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
