Football Preview: Paraclete Spirits vs. Westlake Warriors        
        
		
             The Paraclete Spirits will take on the Westlake Warriors at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
 Last Friday, Paraclete was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap  as they fell  30-26 to Hart. Despite 139 more yards than the Hawks, the Spirits couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
 Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from  Joseph Mesa, who threw for 435 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 15.5 yards per attempt.  Savaughn Gentle was  Mesa's top target, picking up 165 receiving yards and a touchdown.
 Even if they lost, Paraclete's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In that department,  Austin Robinson was the leader with two.
 Even though they lost, Paraclete was moving up and down the field and  finished the game with 550  total yards. That's the most  total yards they've posted since  was before  the start of last season.
 Meanwhile, Westlake was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They fell just short of Bishop Diego by a score of  31-28. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' California football rankings  (they are ranked 337th, while the Cardinals are ranked 125th).
 Despite the  loss, Westlake got top-tier performance from   Demanie Bell, who rushed for 140 yards and three touchdowns. Bell got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible 73 yards.
 Westlake's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of  Julian Ramirez and  Charles Davis.
 Paraclete now  has a losing record at 1-2. As for Westlake, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
 Paraclete skirted past Westlake  10-7 when the teams last played  back in September of 2023. Will Paraclete repeat their success,  or does  Westlake have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
