Football Recap: Community Takes a Loss

Community extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were beaten by the Cannon County Lions 49-8. The Vikings/Viqueens were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.

As for Cannon County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won three matchups by 31 points or more so far this season.

A big part of Cannon County's win came down to the chemistry between Eli Garrett and his top target Miles Alexander. Garrett threw for 266 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per attempt while Alexander gained 181 total yards and three touchdowns.

Community will be playing in front of their home fans against Richland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cannon County, they will challenge Gordonsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Lions 12.5, the Tigers 12.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
