Spanish Fork faced Sky View in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Dons had just enough and edged out the Bobcats 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Dons, who have now won seven contests in a row.
Spanish Fork wouldn't go down easily and took Sky View into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-14, 14-25, 25-19, 15-10.

Sky View's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Abby Thatcher, who had 24 digs and two assists, and Brynn Spackman, who had 17 digs. Spackman has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played.
Spanish Fork's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Sky View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.
Spanish Fork has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against North Sanpete on the 26th. As for Sky View, they will look to defend their home court on the 2nd against Mountain Crest at 6:30 p.m.
