Baseball Recap: Old Colony RVT Victorious

Old Colony RVT got themselves on the board against Greater New Bedford RVT on Wednesday, but Greater New Bedford RVT never followed suit. They came out on top against the Bears by a score of 3-0. The Cougars were shut out 10-0 the last time they took on the Bears, so the Cougars were just returning the favor.

Marc Donati was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Camden Valle, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Michael Tomkiewicz, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Old Colony RVT's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Greater New Bedford RVT, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Old Colony RVT will head out to square off against Diman RVT at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Greater New Bedford RVT, they will welcome Somerset Berkley Regional at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
