Freeman piles up the points against Newport

The Freeman Scotties scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They really took it to Newport for the full four quarters, racking up a 74-24 victory at home. That looming 74-24 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Freeman yet this season.

Freeman found their leader in underclassman Taylee Phelps, who scored 34 points. The matchup was Phelps' 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Gass, who scored nine points.

Freeman pushed their record up to 6-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for Newport, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.

Freeman will be playing in front of their home fans against Riverside at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverside will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while Freeman is ranked 113th). As for Newport, they will head out on the road to face off against Selkirk at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
