Basketball Recap: Trayton Traweek's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Dolores over Ridgway

Dolores was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ridgway Demons. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bears have suffered since December 14, 2024.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trayton Traweek, who posted 21 points and six rebounds. That was a full 40.4% of Dolores' points, marking the fifth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Michael Nielson, who earned nine points and seven boards.

Dolores' defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Ridgway, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dolores has already played their next contest (against Telluride), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Ridgway will square off against Mancos on Saturday.
