Baseball Recap: Vincennes Rivet Takes a Loss

Vincennes Rivet made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Shakamak, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Patriots fell just short of the Lakers by a score of 7-5 on Thursday. The Patriots have struggled against the Lakers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Henry Holka made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody (Bo) Shots, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Vincennes Rivet's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Shakamak, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vincennes Rivet will square off against Mt. Vernon at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. The Patriots are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Shakamak, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against West Vigo at 5:30 p.m. The last three games the Vikings have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
