Baseball Game Preview: Boca Raton Bobcats vs. Park Vista Cobras

Boca Raton hasn't had much luck against Park Vista recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bobcats will challenge the Cobras at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Boca Raton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over Spanish River. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Sharks: they've now won four in a row.

Romeo Randazzo was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Park Vista had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Chiefs a 10-0 shutout. The Cobras might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.

Logan Wilson tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Micheal Maynes and Caleb Smith did most of the damage at the plate: Maynes scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Smith scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Anthony Iaciofano, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Park Vista always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Santaluces only posted an OBP of .118.

Boca Raton's record now sits at 6-20. As for Park Vista, their record is now 19-4.

Boca Raton suffered a grim 21-7 defeat to Park Vista in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
