Baseball Recap: Wheaton Takes a Loss

Wheaton entered their matchup against Pleasant Hope on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Bulldogs took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates.

Logan Brattin and Riley Roller stepped up to the plate in a big way. Brattin went 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI, while Roller went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Evan Pyle also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Wheaton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Pleasant Hope, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season.

Wheaton will host Clever at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Pleasant Hope has already played their next contest (against Non Varsity Opponent), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
