Football Recap: Jonah Williamson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Thomas Jefferson + How To Watch

Trinity had lost three games at home, but after bumping their record up to 3-4 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with a 33-22 victory over the Thomas Jefferson Jaguars. The win almost wasn't to be: the Hillers were down 22-7 in the second quarter.

Trinity's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jonah Williamson, who rushed for 92 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 180 yards and a pair of TDs. Owen Gardner got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Trinity was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 215 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 171 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

Trinity didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Gardner, Chase Kostelnik, and Tyler Welsh picked up one apiece. Gardner got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

As for Thomas Jefferson, their record is now 5-2. They were up 22-7 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

When it comes to explaining why Thomas Jefferson lost, don't look at Tyler Eber. Despite the final result, he rushed for 202 yards and two scores. Eber was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards.
