Baseball Recap: Brandon Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Brandon proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 15) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the West Monroe Rebels 3-2. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 8-2 win the Rebels walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2025.

Brandon gave Cooper Hooks the start and clearly made the right call: he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Hooks has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Brandon's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tre Adcox, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Kam Johnson also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

The win was the third in a row for Brandon, bringing their record up to 7-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for West Monroe, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Brandon beat the Rebels by a score of 2-1 later that day.
