Volleyball Recap: Woodland Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Woodland waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Zalma Bulldogs 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 two weeks ago.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Woodland took every set by at least 18 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-7, 25-4.

Makayla Altenthal paced Woodland's offense, picking up nine kills. Altenthal were helped by Dezirae Braswell and Mollie Long, who contributed 12 assists each. Long was also solid from the service line: she led the team with 11 aces.

Woodland's victory bumped their record up to 7-5-2. As for Zalma, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodland will welcome Advance at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Zalma, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Charleston at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
