Softball Recap: Farmersville Farmers vs. Collinsville Pirates
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Farmersville). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Collinsville Pirates an 11-0 shutout on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Farmers with their most commanding win of the season.
V Reyes made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Farmersville got a massive performance out of Jacey Wheaton, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Alyssa Smith was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
