Softball Recap: Riverview Comes Up Short

If Riverview was riding high fresh off their 13-7 takedown of Wharton last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sharks came up short against the Newsome Wolves on Tuesday, falling 11-3. The Sharks have struggled against the Wolves recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Riverview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Freeland, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Another was Kara McGuire, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Riverview's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Newsome, their record is now 17-7.

Riverview does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newsome, they have already played their next contest, a 9-5 loss against Bloomingdale on the 22nd.
