Softball Recap: Spring Grove Takes a Loss

Spring Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Waynesboro Indians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rockets of the 19-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Skyla Sigmon was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, London Parks made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Spring Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Waynesboro, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-7.

Coming up, Spring Grove will challenge Susquehanna Township at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Waynesboro, they will head out on the road to face off against Shippensburg at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
