Soccer Game Preview: Wheeler vs. Walton

The Wheeler Wildcats will take on the Walton Raiders at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Walton took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Wheeler, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Wheeler got the win against Cartersville by a conclusive 4-1. It was an even better day for Murilo Lopes as he scored three goals for his team.

Meanwhile, Walton faced Pebblebrook in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Falcons who were credited with the win. Pebblebrook got it done in the shootout by posting six goals to Walton's five. Walton's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Walton's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Wheeler, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Wheeler beat Walton by a goal in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, winning 2-1. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
