Basketball Recap: Goose Creek Triumphs

Goose Creek won the last time they faced Philip Simmons, and Madelin Dates did her part to make sure it happened again. The Goose Creek Gators claimed a resounding 67-19 victory over the Philip Simmons Iron Horses thanks in part to Dates, who posted 25 points and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Goose Creek's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jalaiya Jacobs, who had eight points and 11 steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 3.5 steals per game.

Despite the loss, Philip Simmons still got an impressive performance from Germany Moore, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Moore is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Goose Creek's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Philip Simmons, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Goose Creek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-53 loss against First Baptist School on the 14th. As for Philip Simmons, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-31 defeat against Wando on the 16th.
