Basketball Game Preview: Miller Place Panthers vs. Mount Sinai Mustangs

Miller Place is 2-8 against Mount Sinai since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Miller Place Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Mount Sinai Mustangs at 6:15 p.m.

Miller Place is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game dating back to last season back in December of 2024. They had to suffer through a 80-51 loss at the hands of Valley Stream Central.

Meanwhile, Mount Sinai waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They strolled past the Golden Flashes with points to spare, taking the game 71-52. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by exactly 19 points.

Miller Place better keep an eye on Dominic Pennzello. He was instrumental in Mount Sinai's win, putting up 27 points. Pennzello's afternoon made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Kolsch, who posted 11 points and five assists.

Mount Sinai smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 16 consecutive contests.

Mount Sinai is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points per game. As for Miller Place, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Miller Place suffered a grim 72-50 defeat to Mount Sinai in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Miller Place avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
