Basketball Game Preview: Cushing Bearkats vs. San Augustine Wolves

The Cushing Bearkats and the San Augustine Wolves will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

San Augustine will be up against a hot Cushing team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Bearkats came out on top against Union Grove by a score of 68-59 on Friday. While the Bearkats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, San Augustine didn't have too much trouble with Arp on Friday as they won 58-39.

San Augustine's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Cushing, their victory bumped their record up to 13-1.

Cushing was dealt a bruising 69-38 loss at the hands of San Augustine when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can the Bearkats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
