Softball Game Preview: Fruitvale Bobcats vs. Big Sandy Wildcats

For the second straight game, Fruitvale will face off against Big Sandy. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Fruitvale Bobcats face off against Big Sandy Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Fruitvale was able to grind out a solid win over Big Sandy, taking the game 5-2.

Kyla Bain made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ronnye Tull, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Shelby Dry, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Fruitvale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Fruitvale's victory bumped their record up to 5-7-1. As for Big Sandy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
